We are J.Works - a Japanese jewelry maker based in Okachimachi, Tokyo, Japan. This area is also called “Jewelry Town Okachimachi”. It is very close to Akihabara, which is famous all over the world for its anime culture and electric shops.
Our craftsmen are very highly skilled and experienced in making high-quality jewelry for many years.
The answer is ... it is an alloy of gold and aluminium with other minerals.
It has been known for 5 decades that the addition of aluminium to pure gold could result in purple gold. The reason why it took so long is because of problems with discoloration, toughness, and durability. There are various processes involved in the commercialization of purple gold.Through many years of research, finally beautiful purple gold jewelry was born.
Purple Gold has passed gold purity analysis test for the first time conducted by the Japanese Mint, which manufactures Japan's coins, Purple Gold was marked with the "Hallmark" for the first time as a proof of its gold purity from January 2022. Since Purple Gold uses aluminum as an alloy, the purity of gold could not be accurately determined by the conventional method of grade testing, and we would like to express our gratitude to the Japanese Mint for checking the purity of Purple Gold by using a new method through trial and error.
